IVAN NOVA'S HURT SHOULDER SUGGESTS DL STINT

I hope you're sitting down. The Yankee rotation is about to get leaner.
Well, I hope not, but look, at this point in the season, August 22nd, CC Sabathia is finishing up his second stint on the DL, Andy Pettitte is out for the season, Freddy Garcia and David Phelps are filling the holes and Phil Hughes and Ivan Nova are incredibly insconsistent. Now comes word that Ivan Nova may have tightness in his shoulder so they're going to test it...he's headed back to New York. Read HERE.  Sure, the word on the street is Nova should only miss 1 start.  I strongly doubt that.  I fear something more may be happening with Nova.  He's been way too horrible and as we saw from him last season, that's just not him.  I fear he may be legitimately hurt.

According toe Joe Girardi, he "noticed a sharp dip in Nova's velocity... and it raised eyebrows on the bench."

Look, do we panic? No, believe it or not, Cashman has options and they are just as good if not better than Nova has been as of late.  Derek Lowe, while in my opinion, isn't a starter anymore, could spot start.  Randy Wolf was just released by the Brewers, read HERE.

If the Yanks were to sign him cheap, you never know.  OR, once CC Sabathia comes back, David Phelps can fill the Nova hole.

Look, the Yanks are in trouble when it comes to their starting pitching, there is no doubt about it.  Hopefully they can reach back right now and step up.

Put it this way, when Yankee great Roy White can tweet his concern about the Yankees rotation when CC Sabathia went down (Last week), then you know there are issues. He's right, now is the time that the Yankees pitchers really need to "step up."

Stay tuned on this one, it's about to get real interesting.
