YANKEES SIGN FUKUDOME TO A MINOR LEAGUE DEAL

News out of Yankeeland says that the Yanks signed outfielder Kosuke Fukudome to a minor league deal.  According to the Yankees, he will report to Scranton Wilkes Barre.

Fukudome is 35 years old and really has not had a very successful season with the White Sox which is probably why he was cut last month.  He has a .171 AVG with 4 RBIs in only 41 at-bats.

Brian Cashman had expressed having some outfield depth, now they have it, as well as DeWayne Wise, Jayson Nix, Raul Ibanez, Andruw Jones and Chris Dickerson down in the minor leagues.  Hey look, if they like what they see from Fukudome, maybe he comes up and helps the club, or, maybe Cashman is just collecting talent for the trade deadline. No one knows... but we'll see soon enough.
