Every time the Yankees win, someone new contributes huge. That's the sign of a great ball club. Yeah, that's right, I said it, a great ball club. The Yankees have what it takes to take this team all the way. When guys like Hiroki Kuroda consistantly go 7+ innings and DeWayne Wise has the game of his life, you need to stop and realize that if these guys were lined up next to dudes like CC Sabathia and Derek Jeter for a pickup game, they wouldn't be your first choice, yet, they contribute when they need too. Good for them. I like that in my Yankees.
The Yankees won 7-1 tonight against the Cleveland Indians. The runs just kept coming and the pitching held the Indians in check. Pretty nice combination. Kuroda went 7 innings, allowed 5 hits and 1 run. He struck out 7. The bullpen was a combined Clay Rapada and Freddy Garcia. Both pitched an inning and both didn't allow a hit.
The offense was all DeWayne Wise all the time. Wise homered and tripled and had 3 RBIs. Robinson Cano was 2-4 with a homer and 3 RBI's as well. The other run came from Nick Swisher who cranked out a homer in the 3rd. A really nice grouping of runs by the Yankee bats tonight. I liked the way it came together.
Again, final score, Yankees 7 - Indians 1.
That's 3 in a row... just sayin'.
