INJURY UPDATES: BANUELOS, GARDNER & CAMPOS

Let’s face it; both Manny Banuelos and Jose Campos will be critical for the long-term future of this team, and we could really use Brett Gardner right now. For now here are your Bleeding Yankee Blue updates:

  • Manny Banuelos was placed on the 7-Day DL the other day due to a “sore elbow”. We first had that for you in AND IT JUST GETS WORSE IN YANKEELAND ...We now get word that the DL stint for Banuelos is for precautionary reasons and nothing is too serious. He also had an MRI that came back clean and his injury is being called a “tired arm”. Read HERE and HERE

  •  Brett Gardner still feels stiffness in his elbow, so they have pushed off him hitting with a tee off until Monday. You can read that tweet HERE. There is no doubt we need Gardner back, but obivously he needs to be 100% and this lingering elbow pain is something that doesn't seem to go away.
  • Jose Campos has a more serious injury. Remember, he was placed on the DL last month due to elbow inflammation and he hasn’t pitched since. Now we hear that he still has “elbow soreness”, read HERE.  Of course the thought of Tommy John surgery will pop into many people’s heads when we hear this, but that’s not the case. Maybe Jose will get back on the mound soon, at least I hope so. Stay tuned.
Hopefully these guys get well soon...stay tuned.
