BREAKING: DROB PUT ON DL; EPPLEY CALLED UP

David Robertson has been placed on the 15 day DL after we got wind that he had a left oblique strain.  He had an MRI today. You can read about it HERE. David Robertson had been quoted earlier saying that he was "not too concerned" about the strain. Well, I guess now he can "not be" concerned on the DL. He'll be back, I'm not worried, it just sucks that's all. I really want good things for this guy.

Here's what Robertson said about when he initially felt the pain: “When I was out there (Friday), I could feel it getting a little sore, but it wasn’t like one pitch and I felt like something rip or tear or anything like that... I was hoping it was one of those things that would go away real quick, but it just keeps hanging around.''  Read it all HERE.

Look, now we have Mariano Rivera, David Robertson and Joba Chamberlain out.  It's a different type of bullpen now, no question.

With Cody Eppley coming up, that will somewhat fill the DRob void. Plus we now have our closer officially named because DRob can't pitch.  So, no need to do any type of silly poll asking, "Who do you want to close for the New York Yankees?" We have our answer, it's RaSo. I'm actually fine with that and looking forward to it. Consistency is key and it will be good for Rafael Soriano to get out there and be a big dog in the Bronx, he deserves a shot.

There is also an interesting piece of good news.  Remember David Aardsma? He threw 35 pitches today... according to, well...himself. His tweet's below.
Look, there is good news and bad news coming out of Yankeeland right now.  More bad, this is true, but we need to stay positive, we need to play baseball, grind it and most of all, we need CC Monster to eat an Oriole tonight at Camden yards... Let's Go Yanks!!
