The Miami Marlins have made their offer to Cuban star Yoennis Cespedes and after reports of things "really going well" this week in Miami, you have to assume that this deal gets done by the end of the weekend. Why wait? This report on the Marlins bid comes to you from Eric Reynoso from Cafe Fuerte HERE. Here is what he said, translated to English from Spanish:
"The Cuban baseball Yoennis Céspedes would have returned to the Dominican Republic with a bid of the Marlins in Miami for about $40 million dollars and has no immediate plans to meet with other major league teams. "Everything has been very positive and goes with a proposal of about $40 million," he told CafeFuerte a source close to the negotiations."
Look I just wanted to keep ya'll in the loop. It was clear after the past month or so that the Yankees, who were originally IN on Cespedes, quickly were OUT on him. That being said, I didn't want to let you think that I forgot about Cespedes if he were to wind up on another team. We just like to keep our readers informed and involved in stories we write about and go to completion....that's what she said.
If and when Cespedes signs with the Marlins, we'll let you know. We assume it's a done deal.
