YANKEES MAKE IT OFFICIAL, SIGN FREDDY TO 1 YEAR DEAL
The Yankees made it official today signing Freddy Garcia to a one-year deal. Garcia will make $4-million plus incentives.
If you read Bleeding Yankee Blue on a regular basis you know this signing is no surprise. We reported on this a couple weeks ago but today both sides officially inked the deal. I think this is definitely good news because Freddy really held his own in 2011 and then some. Garcia made 26 starts and went 12-8 with a 3.62 ERA. In fact, Garcia's ERA this year was the second lowest in his career. He really had one his best years in a long time and, there is no reason to think he can't give us a repeat performance in 2012. Congrats Freddy!
