WHY WE LOVE PINSTRIPE PRIDE

(Photo: Getty)
What can you say about tonight's game, the Yankee bats finally woke up but equally as important, so did our Yankee pride. Not only did the Bronx Bombers knock around the cowardly Carmona, they finally drew a line in the sand and sent a message to the rest of the league, "No more plunking our hitters and expect to get away with it!" That BS needed to stop during the Red Sox series but it didn't and the Indians thought they would just pick up where the Sox led off. They were wrong! (Photo: Getty)
Tex sent a "tex message" to Carmona and all teams by approaching the mound after being beamed, Tex's message to me said: "NO MORE! We are the Yankees dammit and you just woke the sleeping giant!" I really thought he was gonna take Carmona's head off. Benches cleared but no punches were thrown but just when it looked like it was over, our Skipper gets into it. Seeing Girardi that fired up said a lot to me about who Joe is and how much he loves his players. As a former catcher, he knows when players are hit intentionally and make no mistake, Tex was hit on purpose. Girardi and Teixeira really pumped me up! I was screaming, "Yes, let's go boys!". Let the 2011 AL Pennant begin! I think this win will be the game we look back at and remember it for being the game that turned our season around!

Here are some other highlights of our blowout win tonight:
  • Pitching: Ivan Nova was superb! Yes, he had an early lead but you still have to pitch your game. You still have to stay composed and he did. He pitched seven innings, allowed two runs, four hits and three walks. He struck out six.
  • Power: Where to begin? Granderson, A-Rod both hit tremendous homeruns but the power also showed up in the rockets that Cano and Tex hit tonight.
  • Posada: what a night for the Jorge Posada figurine night. My boy had 3 more hits and just looks like a completely different hitter. Hip Hip Jorge.
Great win in the Bronx tonight. Let's keep it going today.

Final score: Yankees 11 - Indians 7.
