BIRD & EOVALDI AIN'T NO LAW FIRM...

The Yankees have big time ballplayers on their hands!

Not only that, it's the youth movement that Yankee fans have been crying about for a long, long time now. Nathan Eovaldi is young and a pitcher the Yankees thought they could help improve.  It didn't help that the Marlins gave him no run support.  He was traded to New York and at least now he gets that run support he needs and a salute to the Yankee pitching staff for getting him to perform even better in the AL.

A salute to Yankee brass who brought up Greg Bird and did exactly what we were all hoping for... seeing big league pitching, learning from the veterans and most importantly, just letting him get out there, get some at bats and perform.  The guy already looks like a veteran.  Wait... don't rush it, I'm enjoying watching his swing, way, way too much.

The Yankees beat the Twins today and it was a good game and the stars by far were Eovaldi and Bird.  This is how it went down:

Eovaldi pitched well today. He went 7, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs.  He struck out 8 and for a while there, he had a no hitter going.  He now has 13 wins on the season and it's fantastic.

The Yankee run scoring went like this:

In the 4th, Greg Bird hit a 2 run homer... Beltran scored on that.  In the 6th, a carbon copy.  Those are your Yankee runs.

You want the perfect combination in baseball? Pitching compliments hitting... and vice versa.

Welcome to the Bigs, Bird.

Final: Yankees 4 - Twins 3
