JETER'S COMMENT SEEMS KIND OF "DOUCHEY"

If you don't know what Douchey means, the definition is "obnoxious" or "sucky".  That's basically what I just called Derek Jeter.  Write that down. Now trust me, I love the guy, but for a guy that never gave a wrong quote to the media ever... since baseball has ended, he sure does it a lot lately.

When asked about missing baseball, according to ESPN, and delivered to me by my pal Nicole Hart:
Now I'm going to be honest with you;  I'm not sure I get it.  I mean, as a child, Jeter had a goal, to play baseball and be the best... and maybe become a New York Yankee one day.  Well he did.  So... he had a goal, he pursued that goal, and eventually he signed with the New York Yankees.  Amazing, right?

He works hard, he does it for years and years and he wins virtually ever award out there, including championships. His last hit ever is a walk-off at Yankee stadium. He celebrates with us fans, and says goodbye. But now suddenly he decides that his whole life in baseball in the best uniform on the planet just doesn't excite him anymore?   Really? REALLY?

That's like loving sex, but leaving the porn star set with the lead actor standing there with his dick in his hand because you're just "over it".  You know what I mean?

It makes no sense to me. Oh, and pardon my language... I was trying to make a point. You don't leave what you love and leave the fans standing there with their worn out Jeter shirts and let them know that you've moved on.  Again... it's kind of douchey... hence the title.

Now the truth is, Jeter doesn't owe us anything, but I personally thought more of him.  I'm not sure what to make of this quote. I suspect there will be more to follow in the next few days.  I hope in the next day or 2 we find that it's not as selfish as it sounds, but who knows.

Whatever the case, I still like Jeet. I just don't case for this comment, that's all.
