MLB KNEW WHAT THEY WERE PURCHASING

ESPN Outside the Lines reported that MLB officials might have known that the documents they purchased were stolen. According to "a source." This purchase impeded the investigation by the Florida Department of Health against the Biogenesis founder, Tony Bosch. Here is the quote:

"The source said the MLB knew the documents had been intended for Florida investigators and that the purchase of them hindered the state investigation by preventing the department from gathering additional evidence against Bosch, doctors and other affiliated with the clinic. Further, MLB officials never told health department officials they had obtained the records, the source said."

You can read the full story HERE. Of course the MLB denies this, going as far as saying the investigation was regulatory, not criminal. They insist that Dan Mullin was never told the documents were stolen. Considering that "impeding the investigation" accounts for 61 games of the 211 game suspension that the MLB is trying to suspend Alex Rodriguez for, this is all very "Pot meets Kettle." The Miami Herald reports that the Florida Police Department has reopened the investigation into the theft of documents stolen from Porter Fischer's car in March (HERE). If these reports are true, it just further solidifies my opinion that Bud Selig is working for his reputation, and not for the betterment of the MLB.

The arbitration hearings against ARod had resumed today. The case will go on through the 27th of November, until they break for Thanksgiving. ARod was set for a pre-interview with the MLB, in order for him testify, only to come down with the flu, and be unable to make it. It has yet to be rescheduled. As always, BYB will continue to keep you in the know on all things ARod.
