So I was surfing around the web today just checking out random Yankee news wherever I could find it. And, to my surprise, I started seeing three words that scared the hell out of me: "Mariano Rivera" + "Surgery". My heart sank!
Here's the scoop...At a charity event, Rivera revealed he has been bothered by some sort of irritation in his throat. He said: "It's been a month. Every time I talk it gets worse and worse." He is suppose to meet with a specialist on Monday and it appears he may have to get his vocal chords scrapped (whatever that means). We don't know for sure whether this type of procedure or surgery would affect Mo being ready for spring training but we should know more in the coming weeks. You can be sure BYB will be all over this story so be sure to check back for the latest.
Look, we all know Mariano Rivera is hands down the greatest closer of all time but, more importantly, he is a great human being. So I'm sure I speak for the entire Yankee family when I say, GET WELL SOON MO!
