New York had been heavily connected to Arráez before the deadline. Insiders like Jon Heyman reported the Yankees liked the fit and discussed the three-time batting champion. Of course they did. A lineup missing Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Giancarlo Stanton could've used one of the best contact hitters in baseball.
Instead, they watched Philadelphia make the move.
