For fans like me that just can't take anymore of Baboonie's antics the other "great" event we have seen regularly are his game ejections. Over Baboonie's miserable tenure as a manager he has been ejected from a game 44 times now and we just watched number five this season. It didn't take long either, just three innings into the game, we got this:
How many more are we going to see this season? Friends and family tell me not many more because he's about to get canned. I want to believe that, but I just don't think Hal Steinbrenner has the balls to do it. He's nothing like his dad. He has no brains or balls to do what fans want. He's still making money and butts are still in the stands so....he's making money.
But maybe I am wrong. At some point, Hal has to have to give a good hard look in the mirror and realize anyone reading this blog could do a better job. Giancarlo Stanton was on base more than any other Yankee Saturday, but Baboonie benched him Sunday to give him a rest. Baboonie says he can't play outfield two days in a row, yet he is a "professional" making 30 million a year. He can’t play two days in a row in the outfield? He can't suck it up and do his part to help his team that will be LUCKY to see postseason action at this point? We need our best team on the field everyday. When someone is getting results their bat needs to be in the lineup, period. It's not rocket science.
But Baboonie doesn't understand that. He played the game once but can't remember the strategy or how to win games. It's not in his blood anymore. Baboonie can yell at first base coaches and umps when he is frustrated, but not players. No wonder why the players have no respect for him. They can underachieve and screw up as much as they want and just collect a paycheck and not be held accountable. There is no consequence to them. They can play him like a fiddle.
I wish it would be as easy to eject Baboonie from this team as it is when he gets tossed from games. I really hope this is the beginning of the end. We all want it! If Hal wants to win as much as he says he does then he needs to make it happen. This team is going nowhere fast.... but I hope he gets a permanent ejection next.
