YANKS ARE FAVORITES FOR HA-SEONG KIM, BUT THERE ARE MORE NOW

Alright, folks, let's talk about the elephant in the room—or should we say, the infielder on the field. Yes, we're talking about Ha-Seong Kim. Through the chilly months of winter, it's become glaringly obvious to us here at Bleeding Yankee Blue that Kim is the choice for an infielder. Forget the whispers and rumors swirling around the league; we’re banging the drum loudest, clearest, and hardest. Why? Because it's just that obvious.

Sure, he's coming off shoulder surgery, and we all know how that can raise a few eyebrows and lower a few offers. But that's where the smart money plays come in. You strike a deal with Kim now, knowing that if he bounces back and meets his goals, you’ve got the inside track to lock him in for the long haul. A little gamble, a lot of potential reward.

Let’s be real, this surgery does affect his market. Jon Morosi of MLB Network confirmed that Kim won’t be ready for Opening Day, and now the San Francisco Giants seem to be in the driver’s seat. But wow, Kim’s still catching eyes left and right. And none more than those in San Fran. Andrew Baggerly of The Athletic says they’re very interested, and who can blame them? A utility Gold Glove winner with defensive versatility like Kim is pure gold—over 500 innings at third base, 1,000 at second, and 2,500 at shortstop since he was posted in 2021. That’s a resume, folks.

Now, let’s not forget the Padres. Jim Bowden of The Athletic predicts a reunion with them could be on the cards, and it makes sense. A recovering Kim returning to familiar territory is logical. But here’s the kicker—there were strong murmurs about the Yankees’ interest back in early December. And yeah, those whispers might have quieted down a bit, but we're still here, shouting it from the rooftops.

The Yankees could use infield help, and Kim's flexibility is exactly what they need. It's a match made in baseball heaven. Even MLB On FOX sees it, naming the Yankees as the best fit for Kim. So, while others might be hopping on the bandwagon, remember who was cheering the loudest from the start. That's right, it was us—Bleeding Yankee Blue, Kim's biggest fans.

Let's make it happen, Yanks!
