YANKEES ARE "VERY GOOD FIT" FOR MY FAVORITE OFF-SEASON FREE AGENT

Yes, we know. We’ve been banging this drum for ages, but for the love of everything holy, the Yankees need to make Ha-Seong Kim a priority. It's getting ridiculous. Spring Training is nearly here, and the time to act is now.

Look, we at Bleeding Yankee Blue were among the first to start chanting “Kim to New York!” And now, even Fangraphs is jumping on the bandwagon! If Fangraphs is all in, then come on, Yankees—what’s the holdup?

In a piece published Wednesday, Fangraphs analyst Davy Andrews made a strong case for why Kim is a perfect fit for the Bronx Bombers just like we have. check it out.

“Right now, our Depth Charts show them with 3.4 projected wins from the second base position, but that’s because we have Jazz Chisholm Jr. slotted in there, with DJ LeMahieu and Oswaldo Cabrera handling third,” Andrews explained. “Adding Kim would allow Chisholm to return to third base, which he played quite well last season despite having zero previous experience at the position, with LeMahieu and Cabrera holding down the fort there until Kim is healthy.”

Let’s address the obvious: Kim is recovering from shoulder surgery and won’t be ready for Opening Day. But honestly? That’s fine. It gives the Yankees an edge in financial negotiations. Take advantage of the timing!

And as Andrews pointed out, the Yankees have wiggle room in their payroll and flexibility with their current players. With $19 million to go before matching their 2024 total, the financial flexibility is there.

What are we even debating at this point? Kim is an great defender, a solid hitter, and brings the kind of hustle and energy that the Yankees need. Putting him with Chisholm, Volpe, and Goldschmidt gives the infield versatility and depth, even with the injury concerns, when he is healthy of course.

It’s time to stop dragging this out. Ha-Seong Kim should be in pinstripes yesterday. Yankees, make the deal. Enough said.
