Just when I thought the Yankees were going to keep Billy McKinney and perhaps groom him for all the good work he did last season, they trade him. Loyalty means nothing these days, right?
The New York Post writes that McKinney is headed to the Pirates:
"The Yankees traded the outfielder to the Pirates on Thursday night for international signing pool money, YES Network reported. It comes one week after the Yankees signed McKinney, 29, to a minor-league deal, seemingly to add organizational depth..."
Look, it happens. No question Billy can keep his head held high as he did some good things for the Yanks. Hopefully he does well in Pittsburgh. Like I've said many times... I've always been a fan of McKinney.
Be well my friend.
