Luis Severino is almost ready... and damn, I can't wait to see him in the Bronx. Yesterday he threw for the Somerset Patriots and did amazing things, including being part of a no-hitter.

"Three pitches and two outs later, the Class AA Patriots had a franchise first no-hitter.Big picture, this early evening no-no for the Patriots fueled optimism that the Yankees soon will be getting back Severino, a two-time All-Star right-hander who hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since undergoing Tommy John surgery in February 2020.
Severino was only maybe two or three weeks from returning in June when he suffered a groin injury in his second rehab start. He finally pitched in a game again last Tuesday, and he looked rusty laboring through a 2 1/3-inning, two-run start for the Patriots that was first outing in 7 ½ weeks...
“I saw total domination,” Somerset pitching coach Daniel Moskos said. “I saw a guy who was completely locked in. The first time out you saw some of those jitters. It had been a long time since he pitched. He had the rehab outing in Hudson Valley (on June 12) and then he had some time off. He came back and you just saw a guy who was fighting his way through it, and then (Sunday) you saw a guy who was completely locked in, a guy who is not far away from being ready to pitch in Yankee Stadium."
Moskos knows... he was front and center.
Look, it's been a long time for Sevy so this is encouraging news. I can't wait until he's back! Nice work boys of the Somerset Patriots... way to grind.
