LAYING EASTER EGGS ON THE IL

The injured list continues to grow as Aaron Judge heads to the ER for an oblique strain following yesterday's 9-2 win over the Royals.  Judge left the game after he singled in the 6th inning.  The impact on the team is far reaching, beyond the number of Easter eggs gathered by kids on this Easter Sunday morning.

"Look, it's Aaron Judge," Boone said. "He's one of the great players in the game, such a key figure to our club. Not only just between the lines, obviously, but what he means to us in the room. And he'll be part of continuing to lead us forward, as a group," reported MLB.com.

Brett Gardner expressed it best in his comments following Judge's early departure from the game.

"What he brings on a daily basis, not just offensively with his bat and his ability to get on base at such a high level, but his defense and energy and enthusiasm, makes everyone around him better. He'll still be around and still find ways to do that, but obviously we might be without him for a bit."

Gardner will likely start in centerfield along with Clint Frazier and Mike Tauchman. Tyler Wade will probably platoon with them as the fourth outfielder in the mix.  Too many ILs and not enough everyday players is truthfully taking its toll on this year's Yankee team.  But it is only April and it is only Easter Sunday.

Yet, fans have been inboxing us like crazy here at BYB wondering if there is an end in sight and a light at the end of this IL tunnel.  "This team is snake bitten but at .500 in mid April, can't give up hope. If the pitching keeps them in the game, they always have a chance," said @hammersiny.

The IL is like a row of sitting ducks, laying eggs, waiting for the next one to crack.  But with some hope and time, this Yankee team will be good as new, with Judge leading them to the hunt for October.
