The RailRiders front office tweeted out that Cashman revealed that catching prospect Gary Sanchez has a 'crack in his thumb.'
I assume this means a DL stint but who knows. I was very confused by the "crack" thumb reveal. Is it chapped? Is it broken? Fractured? What does it mean? I hit the Google to find out if anyone ever used that phrase before. One problem with that... if you go on any medical site, it would reveal that Sanchez could have anything from a hang nail to cancer.Brian Cashman said Gary Sanchez has a "crack in his thumb." He said Sanchez is on his way to New York to get looked at by the team doctor.— Shane Hennigan (@RailRidersTT) May 25, 2016
Turns out he could have a 'cracked thumb' from thumb sucking.... I think he's passed that. LoHud revealed that he was hit by a foul tip and that led to the cracked thumb, but what does that mean? Did the nail crack? Am I spending too much time on this bit? Obviously is a phrase to confuse us... or me.
Anyway, there you have it for now. Sanchez has a thumb crack or something. And now he'll most likely either sit and wrap it and play cautiously or he'll hit the DL and won't play for a bit. Whatever the case, you hate to hear about our prospects getting hurt. After all, many of us are rooting hard to see these guys come up to the Bronx. For Sanchez, we're gonna have to wait and see.
