BIG OFFER'S IN FOR CESPEDES & IT'S NOT THE YANKS!
This is just a small note and really has nothing to do with the New York Yankees other than the fact that an American League rival is in the market for him and could sway the way the division shakes out. The Orioles have made an offer to Yoenis Cespedes.
According to the Baltimore Sun, "In recent days, the Orioles have increased their interest in outfielder Yoenis Cespedes and are considering a lucrative multi-year deal in the neighborhood of $18 million per year, according to the source. The length of any potential offer is unknown, but Cespedes was reportedly seeking a six-year deal earlier this offseason."
The reason is simple, and let's keep it street... Chris Davis is being a little bitch. Write that down. The Sun again writes:
"...the Orioles are growing frustrated with Davis, who rejected a seven-year, $150-million offer earlier this offseason."
Let's be honest here, I'm not sure why Chris Davis would reject an offer like that after his team stood by him even after his suspension for Adderall. If the O's wanted me back after that mess, I look for the dotted line and I'm alittle humbled, you know what I mean?
The O's need to sign Cespedes. That would be great for that club. As we saw with the Mets last year, Cespedes brought some life to that team. It could happen again in Baltimore.
