CANO GOES UNDER THE KNIFE

A small nugget about a former Yankee... and it's Robinson Cano so I know you are totally engaged right now.  Apparently Cano will miss winter ball... he's got a hernia, or something.

According to MLB.com, "Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia on Tuesday in Philadelphia and is expected to be fully recovered in about six weeks, the club reported...Cano dealt with what was believed to be a strained abdominal muscle in August and September, but tests the last week of the season revealed a sports hernia. Cano was able to play with the injury, and he finished the season hitting .287 with 34 doubles, 21 home runs, 79 RBIs and 82 runs in 156 games."

I still don't see the guy ever hitting .300 again...hernia or not.  Anyway... get well soon Cano.
