TODAY'S ABOUT AMERICA
With all the crazy stuff going on in the world, it's refreshing to see that the women's soccer team can pull together and win the World Cup and we as a nation, fully support it. As many of you know, they beat Japan in Canada on July 5th. It was important for the team, but it was important for America, a country that is sometimes so split on social, economical and political issues, to come together for a bit and celebrate not only the sport, but what we are about as a nation.
I'm not getting political, in fact I refuse to, but the point is clear... seeing the women of the USA Soccer team in the ticker tape parade today will be a wonderful thing.
I love the parade, especially when we bring home our champions. When it's a city thing, the winning team goes to their city to celebrate. We've seen David Ortiz on his dumb float in Boston a few times over the years after a World Series win. We all remember the Giants in San Francisco last year and who can forget all that ticker tape that was thrown during our Yankees run between 1996 and 2000.
But when it comes to America... we do it in New York City! It's moments like this, that I love walking through New York, a melting pot, and seeing the diversity, standing there celebrating us... USA... Team USA... there's nothing better.
Congrats to the Ladies... job well done.
If you are going to the parade, celebrate, be cautious and applaud America. These days it's more important than ever.
