IT'S ONE WIN... NOT THE WORLD SERIES
We won tonight. Should I jump up and down with excitement? Nope. It's expected. We're the Yankees.
Sorry to sound like a guy who doesn't care, but it's hard to root for this team because once you get too worked up about a winning streak, they'll come back the next day and rip your heart out. It's horrible for me emotionally.
The Yankees won a game and thank god for our pitching once again. Hiroki Kuroda is outstanding. No question it's good to have him back year after year. He does the job. 7 innings pitched, 4 hits and only 1 run given up.
Dellin Betances and David Robertson followed, even though it wasn't a save opportunity, you kinda wanna make sure the game doesn't get away from ya. I love it when a plan comes together.
As far as the Yankee runs, we didn't score 3, we scored more. Holy crap!
In the bottom of the 2nd, Brian McCann homered. It was a 2 run shot and he knocked in Mark Teixeira. In the 5th, Jacoby Ellsbury sacrificed home Chase Headley.
In the 7th, Brett Gardner singled knocking in 1, and shortly after that, it was McCann again to single and knock in Derek Jeter. Carlos Beltran was thrown out at home.
Those are your 5.
Are you preparing to buy playoff tickets? Not so fast. The Yankees need a rhythm. This could be a good start though.
Final: Yankees 5 - Red Sox 1
