LOST IN THE BRONX!

This is Clark Grizwold in the film Vacation. He's lost. While it probably makes no sense to you, I needed to get your attention rather than have a headline that read YANKEES SUCK. In fact, the Yankees do not suck.  They just looked lost tonight. That's the end of that bit...

The Yankees went from creaming the Boston Red Sox 14 - 5 to losing in a more pathetic way tonight.  We were never in it and alot of it had to do with pitching.  I can't even get mad at Hiroki Kuroda, even though fans will want to be mad at someone.  Blame the bats for going silent.  Blame great pitching by CJ Wilson.  Blame whomever, but don't get mad at Kuroda. The dude's been solid for us for the past 2 years.  Tonight he just sucked and you know what? Every pitcher is entitled to a bad outing once in a while. Tonight it was Kuroda. He went 4.2 innings, giving up 10 hits and 8 runs.  Forget it. Chalk it up as a bad night.

The Yankees scored 1 run tonight. Alfonso Soriano sacrificed home Derek Jeter in the 6th inning.  A sacrifice.  Not a homer. Not a hot shot in the corner for a run scoring triple... a sacrifice. Now, I know, runs are runs, but in the case of momentum and rallies and all of that, well, big plays, big moments pick up a team. It's important. The Yankees didn't have any of that tonight. They had no moment to speak of. They had nothing...just a sacrifice.

But don't fret. It's one game. I see big things for the Yankees this weekend. It's the Angels, and we're the Yankees... we got this.

Final: Angels 13 - Yankees 1.
I leave you with that scene from Vacation:
