But not in a gay way.
The picture above is from the film The Birdcage. That's Hank Azaria. Well... that's that bit...
Anyway... David Phelps spoke about about how our Captain Derek Jeter looked this spring and told the media that Jeet looks amazing. Anthony McCarron of the New York Daily News has a quote from Phelps... check it out:
"'Derek (Jeter) looks amazing. That’s awesome.'
Phelps has sneaked peeks at Jeter’s workouts on one of the four fields
of the complex and feels, after a year mostly without Jeter, the Yankees
will have their iconic shortstop back in his usual form. Injuries,
including a twice-broken left ankle, limited Jeter to only 17 games last
season.
'You can tell he’s determined to go out there and do well,' Phelps
said. 'If you had to place a bet on it, you know he’s going to go out
there and have a good year. I’m really looking forward to seeing him
play again. He’s having a lot of fun right now.'"
I believe that the Captain is on a mission as well. He needs to prove to the world, much like he did when every reporter in the tri-State area accused the Captain of being "finished" when he batted .270 in 2010. He came back in 2011 with a .297 average... far from done.
Look for big things this year from Jeet... and believe me when I say, there's unfinished business after only playing 17 games last season. He's ready to impress... you gotta love it and you gotta believe.
