Truth be told, it's been real quiet on the Joba Chamberlain "interest" front. The past 4 weeks I've heard nothing. Then, there were mumblings... kind of like when Frank Marino and Nicky Santoro in Casino when there talking in the parking lot with their mouths covered with their hands. Teams seem cautious and they don't want anyone knowing nuttin'.
No one wants to admit their checking in on the guy, so it's private and you hope no one's watching, but the others read lips.
We're now hearing that the Diamondbacks made a $3 million, 1 year offer to Joba. That's being denied by the Diamondbacks. That's coming from Steve Gilbert of MLB:
High-ranking #Dbacks official says no offer has been made to Joba Chamberlain.

OK then. So we move on. There are other teams that like Joba. The Houston Astros are interested in Joba and so are the Detroit Tigers. Those reports are from Even Drellich of the Houston Chronicle and Ken Rosdenthal of FOX Sports:
Source: The Astros have interest in Joba Chamberlain. Buy-low candidate who, as a rookie in New York, had his locker next to Roger Clemens.

Per sources, teams with varying levels of interest in Joba include #Indians, #Tigers, #DBacks, #Rockies, #Cubs.
— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) December 11, 2013
In fact, our bud Rosenthal goes further. He's good like that, suggesting that not just the Tigers, but the Indians and even the Rockies and Cubs like Joba. OK Then.Let me break it to you. There is a difference between teams liking you and offering you a contract. We need to wait and see what's going to happen. Because, as you can see from this post... there is actually NOTHING going on on the Joba front!
