AROD'S LAWYERS FILE ANOTHER COMPLAINT

In the continuing Alex Rodriguez vs. the MLB saga, we just wanted to bring you a quick update. It seems that A-Rod's lawyer's have filed a complaint with the arbitrator Fredric Horowitz over information leaked to the media. This came a few days ago, just after it was released that ARod failed a drug test in 2006.

According to a source in the New York Daily News (HERE) it is unlikely that the MLB would leak that information. "All it would do is make it look to the arbitrator like baseball is desperate to out Rodriguez. Why would they do that?"

Maybe because they are? MLB's COO, Rob Manfred, said just days ago that ARod's use of PEDs was longer than any other player in the league. What better way to prove that then to "accidentally" release information about a failed drug test? Normally, a players name is released to the public only after the second failed test. The player is then suspended. It is safe to assume then that the information was not released earlier because ARod did not fail a second drug test. So why release it now, if not to benefit your case?

As if that wasn't enough, Lanny Davis, an adviser to ARod's legal team, and special counsel to former President Bill Clinton (1996-1998) suggested a  federal investigation of the MLB. In a report in the New York Post (HERE) Davis said:

"Commissioner [Bud] Selig is the trustee of our national pastime. I repeat my request that the U.S. authorities should initiate an investigation as to whether any federal crimes have been committed by MLB investigators as well as those in the Comissioner's office who may have been complicit in this misconduct - for example, in the purchase of stolen documents; or whether MLB filed information with the IRS that federal law requires for this type of commercial transaction involving $125,000 in cash."

Put simply, ARod's team is coming out swinging on all sides. In writing about ARod and this entire legal ordeal, I have made it no secret that I believe the MLB has created a witch hunt. They are attempting to use him as an example. The saddest part to me is that some are heralding Bud Selig, and the MLB as heroes. Let's completely forget that they stood idly by while the problem with PEDs escalated. I am not an ARod apologist, but I do believe in fairness. There is no reason this information should have been released. This is just further proof of the MLB's ulterior motives.
