YANKEES IN ATTACK MODE!
Can you feel it? Can you see it? Can you hear it? It's the Yankees stomping their way to the post-season. I didn't think it was possible, but let's keep it real... something good is happening in Yankeeland. Look, there is no question that the Yankees frustrated me most of the year. They frustrated many of you, but now, with their backs against the wall, they are doing something interesting... They are winning and just in time.
It's Attack Mode. I love Attack Mode. It's that mode where all the parts of a ball club move at once, in sync, together. If one guy has a bad game, another picks him up. It's when pitching and hitting work together. It's when runs are scored... it's Attack Mode... and it's happening ladies and gentlemen... we can now see it.
Today Andy Pettitte was superb pitching 6 innings effectively. He struck out 3, gave up 4 hits and only 1 run. The Blue Jays scored 3 in total.
As for the Yankees hitting, it went like this:
In the 5th inning, Curtis Granderson homered. Then Vernon Wells flied into a force out and Eduardo Nunez scored. In the 6th, Nunez singled in 2 runs.
Then alittle while later, Chris Stewart grounded out but Mark Reynolds was able to score on the play. 5 runs in total and the Yankee pitching kept the Jays out of reach.
Final: Yankees 5 - Blue Jays 3.
All in all, it was a good game and I am liking what I'm seeing. These are division rivals now with the Jays and the Rays and don't forget, we won 2 of 3 from the Sox... things are happening... it's Attack Mode... and I like it.
