According to CBS Sports (HERE) and about 30 other sources... Derek Jeter is returning to the Bronx tonight! CBSSports.com says: "Derek Jeter will come off the DL and return to the team on Thursday...In four minor league rehab games with the team's Triple-A affiliate, Jeter went 1-for-9 with four walks and three strikeouts. He played three games at shortstop -- including seven innings at the position on Wednesday night -- and one at DH. The Yankees figure to ease him back into the lineup rather than run him out there as the everyday shortstop right out of the chute."
I love this guy and if he is truly 100%, I know Jeter's presence on the field will turn this team around... just in time. I wrote in "THE JETER EFFECT: Is the future Hall of Famer a case study in loyalty marketing?", The piece I wrote for USA Today:
"Despite the absence of Jeet so far in 2013, it’s clear the man knows how important his presence is. If he’s not on the field, he’s leading in other ways: Talking to teammates, mentoring, guiding. He’s a true leader—a captain in every sense of the word. As we move forward together as fans of Yankees—fans of baseball in general—we should cherish every at bat, every tip of the cap, because he’s rewarded us so much. Not because he has to, but because he wants to. "Jeter knows he's been away too long. Jeter's coming back to do his thing... now we stand and applaud our Captain and thank him...
Welcome back old friend... let's get some!
