Has anyone else noticed that the Yankees forgot how to score runs? Suddenly, with all the talk about Mark Teixeira and Kevin Youkilis coming back, and the bats of Vernon Wells and Travis Hafner cooling off, we're punch-less. Nothing, Nada. In short... we suck. What happened?
Last night we had a race against Mother Nature...and Mother Nature and the Red Sox won. Rain shortened the game and the Red Sox scored 3 and they actually only needed 1 because we put up a big goose egg against a division rival. Man, I hate that.
Hiroki Kuroda went 5.1 innings last night, he gave up 8 hits and 3 runs. He also gave up 2 home runs and that's what killed us. But let's face it, being down by 3 is something the Yankees should have come back from. The Yankees left 2 on base, partially because they couldn't get on base and Oh, just so you know, Mark Teixeira struck out twice last night. Robinson Cano was the only one who worked a walk. Sure, I guess you could suggest the Red Sox pitching was good, but how about the Yankee bats were just plain bad?
Not much more to say here... it was a bad night. Too many of these are starting to annoy me. Don't make me angry... you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.
Final Score: Red Sox 3 - Yankees 0.
Andy Pettitte is back today... hopefully he can stop the bleeding. Can he hit too?
