When the Yankees lose after winning a whole helluva lot, I'd love to be pissed, but how the hell can you be? I will tell you this, I do love that we won 2 of 3 from a division rival, but today's game is now over, that's it. We need to just forget about it and just move on. One thing I can't move on from today is CC Sabathia. It's clear his velocity is gone and now the Monster is going to need to figure out how to pitch in this present day. He needs to think out of the box, he needs to re-adjust and he needs to do what he can to be the ace on this club. If not, I have no problem handing the ball the Hiroki Kuroda. Sorry... tough love... let's get it together C.
The Yanks lost today 8-3. I'm not about to get into the whole break down of runs the Rays scored. Let's just say they scored alot and leave it at that. The Yankees pitching went like this:
CC Sabathia went 7 innings, allowed 7 hits and gave up 7 runs. 7 for each... play that in Atlantic City... tell me how you do. After that newly acquired David Huff (read HERE) came in and gave up another run. Those are your 8 for the Rays.
The Yankees runs went like this: In the 9th inning... that's right the 9th... Brett Gardner homered... his 5th of the year. Next up, David Adams doubled and both Robinson Cano and Travis Hafner scored. Then they were shut down and that's the end of it.
"You had a bad day!" That's the first thing I thought of when the Yanks day was wrapped up. That's from Daniel Powter from a while back.
Good recording artist, decent song... not a decent day for the Yanks... but we move on.
Final Score: Rays 8- Yankees 3
