YANKEES WIN WITH THE "OLD GUYS"

How many times have we heard that the "old guys" the Yankees signed in the off season were silly. "Let the kids play!", right? We said that here at Bleeding Yankee Blue as well!  Truth be told... we're doing OK without the kids right now. I hope this winning stays!

Let's start at the beginning. Andy Pettitte.  He was back after having his start pushed back a few times, but he did a decent job. He went 7.1 innings, allowed 6 hits and 3 runs, striking out 5.  I'll take that. Don't look now, but Pettitte is 3-0.

The new acquisitions of the "Coccoon Crew", Vernon Wells, Lyle Overbay, Travis Hafner and Ichiro Suzuki did good too. Wells hit his 4th homer of the year, Pronk pronked the crap out of the ball for his 5th homer of the year.
Lyle Overbay homered and was booed tonight and Ichiro Suzuki seems to be on the straight and narrow now hitting more consistently.  He had 2 doubles tonight.   Overall, it was a nice showing.

Final tonight: Yankees 9 - Blue Jays 4.

The Yanks have won 8 of 10. Let's just hope the "old guys" don't start breaking down.
