The Yankees beat the Blue Jays again. It was a nice combination of pitching and hitting. Again the old men did it. Hiroki Kuroda pitched and looked darn good. While he didn't get the win, he pitched 7.1 innings, allowed 3 hits and 1 run. He struck out 7.
Vernon Wells homered again today, this time in the 2nd inning. It was number 5 for him in pinstripes.
With the Yankees already leading, David Robertson later allowed a two out RBI single to Rajai Davis. Then Melky Cabrera drove a hit to score 2. Suddenly, the game was tied at 3. Hey, that's just baseball.
In the 11th inning, Ichiro Suzuki hit a sac bunt. There was a throwing error by Aaron Loup, the Blue Jays pitcher. At that point Vernon Wells and Francisco Cervelli scored. Ichiro Suzuki got to 2nd base.
Then the Yanks were in the lead again and Mariano Rivera came in to relieve Shawn Kelley and get the save. Kelley got the win.
Keep winning Yanks! I'm loving this.
Final: Yankees 5 - Blue Jays 3
