Pronk carried the Yankees today. No doubt about it. Sure, the Yankees are dropping like flies, but in this world of injury, the most ironic part of it is, the guy the Yankees need to keep healthy, Travis Hafner, IS in fact healthy... and is also doing great things in pinstripes. You gotta love it!
Now sure, that quote above, "They ain't heavy, they're my brothers" is a play off of the Boystown, "He ain't heavy, he's my brother" quote and while it isn't from Pronk's mouth, it was from his bat.
Today, Hafner went 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs. He had a triple and a home run. According to MLB.com, "Hafner sent a towering fly ball to center field that deflected off Rajai Davis' glove, allowing Vernon Wells to score the go-ahead run." Read HERE.
Meanwhile CC Sabathia went 8 innings, and sometimes struggled. He allowed only 9 hits and 4 runs. He struck out 4. He also gave up 2 home runs. That my friends is something we should keep an eye on.
Also, Robinson Cano is up to .326 this season. He went 2 for 4 today as well.
Final: Yankees 5 - Blue Jays 4.
Overall, we're winning... something the New York sports writers appear to have gotten wrong so far. Interesting, isn't it?
