For those of you who didn't know yet, former baseball pitcher and New York Yankee Virgil Trucks has passed away. He was 95 years old. You can read a good story about him from the Associated Press HERE.
Trucks pitched in the major leagues from 1941 to 1958. He was a member of the New York Yankees in 1958, his last season in baseball where he compiled a 2-1 record and a 4.54 ERA.
He played 17 years in baseball, had a career 3.39 ERA, had a record of 177-135 and won a World Series with the Detroit Tigers in 1945. He also thew 2 no-hitters in 1952, also with the Tigers.
Rest in peace.
