I don't know exactly what that title means above other than to say that Michael Pineda was able to pitch off a full mound and felt great. The key now will be hard work... and you'll see as you read on... he gets it.
According to YES Network, HERE "...he could be throwing
changeups as early as next week and is on schedule to face hitters
sometime next month."
Pineda said he feels 100 percent and his "mechanics" and "motion, everything is the same."
All that is fine and good and I'm thrilled for him. Again though, the best
part is he understands it's more than that saying "The only thing you
need is work hard every day and focus on the things you have. That's
what I'm doing. Be in perfect shape and you'll be great.". He gets it.
He understands how important he can be to this club if he's healthy.
Plus he came to Spring Training 20 pounds lighter. Nice!
Pineda will be a big part of this club, if not in 2013, then definitely in 2014. I can't wait to see this guy dominate. I'd really like to forget about Jesus Montero and learn that we actually got the better end of that trade... Pineda and Jose Campos, future pitching superstars for the New York Yankees.
