So last night Josh Norris @jnorris427 of The Trentonian (New Jersey newspaper) tweeted the following: Heard from a source that WhiteSox are definitely "zeroing in" on Yankees Betances."
And apparently their have been White Sox scouts at Betances' last three outings. I can't say I'm shocked to hear Dellin Betances name come up in any trade talks. In fact, I remember Casey mentioned his name last week in his piece REFLECTING ON THE YANKEES FIRST HALF. He said, "Guys like Adam Warren or Dellin Betances, maybe even some guys currently on our roster that help out in a lesser role, may be on their way out, because if there is 1 thing I do know, the Yankee brass wants stability."

The question I would have is, what do the White Sox have that the Yankees would want? Would this be a minor leaguer for a minor league deal? Here's my concern...it's no secret that Betances' 2012 has not been very good. In fact, he was demoted back down to the Yankees Double-A squad, the Trenton Thunder, last month because of his struggles with the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees. With the Triple-A team Betances was 3-5 with a 6.39 ERA. But we also know that Betances is just 24-year-old and has amazing potential so I am hoping and praying the Yankees don't dump him for two so-so players and cash. I am hoping that if the Yankees do indeed deal away Betances they have their sites on a player or players who will help the Yankees today and down the road.
We will keep you posted on any and all rumblings as the trade deadline approaches.
