YANKEES, GARDNER REACH DEAL
Great news out of Yankeeland this afternoon. Brett Gardner and the New York Yankees reached a one year deal to avoid arbitration. The Yankees will pay Gardner $2.8 million in 2012 and that should bring a smile to the faces of Yankee fans.
Gardner is not doubt the guy we need on the bases. He tied for the American League lead with 49 stolen bases and played a Gold Glove worthy leftfield (we are all still scratching our heads how Gardner did not win that award!)
