BYB BREAKING NEWS: ANGELS SIGN C.J. WILSON
Multiple sources, including NY Post's Joel Sherman and ESPN's Karl Ravech, are confirming that C.J. Wilson has signed a multi-year deal with the Angels. The ink has hardly dried on the Sir Albert signing and now the Angles add the young lefty to their starting rotation. It's a five-year, $77.5MM deal. The Angels how now spent approximately $327.5MM on the last day of the 2011 Winter Meetings.
The 31-year-old Wilson led the AL in games started with 34...he posted a 16-7 record with a 2.94 ERA. Wilson joins a solid Angels rotation that includes Dan Haren, Jered Weaver, and Ervin Santana.
