"Nobody wants to have a year like he had. Maybe that alone will be the boost he needs to get better.'' - - Larry Rothschild
Confidence Larry, Confidence. It's not only noticing a bad year and working to not suck again, it's confidence. The way AJ operates is reinforcement, positive head games and confidence. I wrote all about it in WHY CONFIDENCE OVERRULES FAILURE. And coincidentally, Sliding into Home says the same thing...quote:
"It may be terribly cliché, but it does seem like confidence is key for Burnett. While it isn't quantifiable, I doubt that any Yankee fan would have trouble recalling a moment or five where Burnett hung a curve or just missed with a fastball, then proceeded to completely fall apart."
This is not brain surgery to any of us. Rothschild has a good reputation and if he can get AJ's head right, he's earned his money. On a side note, Sliding into Home... highly recommended
(Maybe if I keep giving them a plug, they'll reciprocate.)
A 10-15 5.26 record is not why AJ was signed in 2009. AJ knows it, Rothschild knows it. All we need now is for positive things to happen.
