A NEW TEAM IS SNIFFING AROUND VERDUGO

Alex Verdugo remains unsigned as the regular season approaches, and his options appear to be dwindling. Not long ago, the Pittsburgh Pirates showed interest, reportedly offering him an $8 million deal—an offer he ultimately turned down. At the time, Verdugo may have held out hope for a return to the Bronx, but as we move deeper into March, that decision is looking questionable. Right now, instead of having a contract in hand, he has nothing.

Recently, the Kansas City Royals have emerged as a potential landing spot for the 28-year-old outfielder. Despite his solid defensive skills, Verdugo's offensive production in 2024—just 13 home runs—was underwhelming, making a reunion with the Yankees unlikely. Some projections still place his potential contract value around $60 million, but with many teams already set for the season, his market is limited. Aside from Pittsburgh, no other team has publicly extended an offer. His projected contract value is $60 million and when you think about it, it's pretty ridiculous when you realize he only had 14 Home Runs in 2024. For now, Verdugo remains in limbo, waiting to see if a team will take a chance on him before Opening Day.

I wish this dude well, he's a good teammate and still has something to offer to any team.
