CUBS, GIANTS, NATS...OH MY

Yes, it has been an entertaining post season to say the least.  First and foremost, I have been more than entertained by the Red Sox quick exit to the golf course on Monday night.  As you may have seen from my immediate tweet, I could not be happier about their early departure from October baseball.

But, the excitement continues as the Los Angeles Dodgers live to see another day, battling back against the Washington Nationals to force a game five on Thursday night in DC.  Then there is the October 14, 1908 ticking time bomb for the Chicago Cubs.  That's the last time the Cubs won the World Series.  They advanced last night in a dramatic 9th inning comeback and save.

Watching the scrappy Cubs battle for a spot in the National League Championship Series is as exciting as it gets, especially when you see ace pitcher Jake Arrieta hit at 3-run home run against ace pitcher Madison Bumgarner on Monday night. To move on, the Cubs had to heavy lift the Giants of San Francisco, by far one of the toughest teams out there.  Love how the Cubs did it last night! Way to never give up- signs of things to come for this NL team. Not an outlier like the Cleveland Indians, the Giants have seen some tough days this season, which included injuries and set backs for their best players.  The Cubs took all of this head on and it paid off in dividends.

The drama is incredibly appealing to fans like me who yearn for pinstripes and Yankee baseball.  But, with teams like this clawing for baseball's biggest prize, I can't help but stay interested.  And don't forget, I have a new post season favorite in the Cleveland Indians who I hope drill passed the Toronto Blue Jays much like they did the Red Sox.  Truth be told, however, I would be remiss if I didn't reveal that my heart lives with the Cubs who just have to do it this year.  108 years is just way too long of a drought for a championship.  I'm thirsty and it's only been seven years.

That's the way I am seeing the post season right now folks and the best is yet to come...129 days or so until pitchers and catchers.  Just saying...
