No, no. Not with the Yankees, but instead with the Braves. I just wanted to bring this to your attention because everyone loves Nick Swisher.
According to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, for a short time there was a possible swap to send Swisher to Atlanta:
Sources: #Braves, #Indians discussed trade of Chris Johnson for Nick Swisher in early June, before Swisher went on DL with knee issue…
— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) July 12, 2015
Now you know me, I don't care about stories after the fact. I feel like if the trade didn't happen, what's the sense in reporting it. That being said, you never know if this is something that will be pursued if Swish is healthy.I did find this interesting though. Looking at the stats, Hardball Talk breaks it down:
"Johnson, 30, has struggled this season, hitting .252/.294/.333 with one home run and seven RBI in 119 plate appearances...
Swisher, 34, has hit worse, compiling a .198/.261/.297 batting line with two home runs and eight RBI in 111 plate appearances."
OK then. Carry on.
