It's official.  My goodness...it's about time.

It is being reported that 19 year old, Cuban stud sensation... you know, all of that, Yoan Moncada... has been cleared.  His agent, David Hastings... "...received a notification from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Friday night stating that his player may be generally licensed as an unblocked national, according to new guidelines for a general license amended Jan. 16, 2015.

This should seemingly clear the way for Moncada to sign with the Major League club of his choice."

That comes from Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com.  Nice work!

So. What does it mean? Well, it means that if the Yankees were the front runners before all this, they sure as hell better go out and get Moncada A.S.A.M.F.P.

Moncada falls in line with everything the Yankees are doing this off season.  He's young, athletic and we've watched the Yankees get younger before our eyes. Moncada will help that along.

Here's what we know about Moncada and the teams connected to him.  Besides the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Giants and even the Rays have held private workouts to get a glimpse of this guy.  But truth be told, and my bias is reeking right now... there is nothing more 'America' than a Cuban signing with the New York Yankees.  Just ask El Duque.

Whatever the case, I am happy to report here on the pages of BYB that Yoan Moncada is cleared to negotiate.  Let's hope the Yankees don't blow this one or there will be hell to pay by the fans.  There are way too many reports to suggest that this will happen for us Yankee fans.  It will be a nice piece to add.

Hey Cash... go get Yoan. The time is now!
