I know David Cone is a nice guy. Why? Because it's not every day that a New York Yankee, current or former shoots you a Tweet "appreciating" what you wrote. Usually these guys are just there to pepper questions and comments to and you never hear from them, and that's the truth.
Ike Dimitriadis, one of our writers here at Bleeding Yankee Blue wrote a piece titled THE DAVID CONE POST YOU'LL LOVE TO READ. It was a piece reliving the Coney years and praising him for his hard work in pinstripes. We tweeted it to him. Hey, I'd like someone to tweet me if someone wrote something nice about me, you know what I mean? Well, Cone responded and while a simple note... it was nice to hear from him:
