THE GRIM REAPER IS NOT A YANKEE FAN

I wanted to keep you updated on the injury bug that has swept through the Yankee clubhouse... and it's relentless... and there's always someone hurt... it blows right now.

Last night Zoilo Almonte got hurt and is headed to the Disabled List.  Before you get all crazy about "old" age, don't... it ZOILO... it's one of the kids. You don't have an argument, it's just a lot of bad luck. Plus, the injury bug doesn't discriminate.

 Bryan Hoch of MLB.com says this on Twitter:

Zoilo Almonte will be placed on the DL, Girardi said. Corresponding move TBA.

This is what happened, and we'll use Newsday as the source (HERE):

"... missing when the team took the field for the bottom of the fifth: leftfielder Zoilo Almonte, who departed with a left ankle sprain. X-rays were negative, but after the game, the rookie was on crutches and had a boot on his left foot."

Bad luck, and just a terrible season for the Yanks.  Hey, we're 7 games out, that's not horrible in July, but we need to turn it around now or we have no chance.
