TRADE NEWS: DODGERS ACQUIRE SHANE VICTORINO

(pictured, Shane Victorino, acquired today by Dodgers)

According to Yahoo's Tim Brown, the Dodgers have traded for Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino.  Victorino was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 1999.  In return the Phillies get Dodgers starting pitching prospect Ethan Martin and reliever Josh Lindblom; along with a player to be named later or some cash.  Victorino, 31, has $3.3-million remaining on his contract and will be eligible for free agency after the season. The center fielder batted .261, 9 HR's, and 40 RBI in 431 plate appearances for the Phillies this year.
