YU DARVISH UPDATE
UPDATE #10: The Nippon Ham Fighters will announce their acceptance of the high bidder and the winning team for Yu Darvish tonight, tweets Danny Knobler of CBS Sports, referencing agent Don Nomura. Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports notes that the announcement will be around 7-8pm central time. Rumors so far suggest the Blue Jays or Rangers won the bid at an amount exceeding $51MM.
UPDATE #9: The Nippon-Ham Fighters are keeping information of the winning bid "very tight," tweets Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan. A source tells Passan that Darvish himself doesn't know the price of the winning bid.
UPDATE #8: So Yahoo sports Mark J. Miller is reporting that the Blue Jays are the team who most likely submitted the highest bid for Yu Darvish. You can read Mark's piece HERE. Basically if it holds true that the Blue Jays put in the highest bid the ball is now in Darvish's team the Nippon Ham Fighters to decide whether to accept the bid. They have until later Tuesday afternoon to decide. Keep in mind Yankee fans, just because another team might out bid us to negotiate with a player does not mean he still can't become a Yankee.

UPDATE #7: There are strong signs the Blue Jays and Rangers made serious bis, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (on Twitter).
UPDATE #6: There's "buzz" that Toronto had a "whopper of an offer," according to Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News (on Twitter). Grant suggests the Rangers bid in the $40-49MM range.
UPDATE #5: Still no word on who has won the rights to negotiatie with Darvish. But here is what we do know at this morning...The Nippon Ham Fighters plan to accept the top bid and it’s reportedly “sky-high.” Nippon Ham, which doesn't know the identity of the MLB team that won the bidding and has until 5pm EST on December 20th to accept or reject the high bid.
The Yankees are the one team that’s known to have placed a bid on the 25-year-old right-hander. And based on last night's reports/tweets the Giants, Athletics, Marlins, Mets, Rays, Angels, Twins, Red Sox and Orioles are out of the mix for Darvish.
UPDATE #4: The Yankees, Cubs, Rangers and Blue Jays are the teams who have reportedly put in bids for Yu Darvish. The Nippon Ham Fighters will reveal who is the highest bidder within the next few days. This coming from the MLB Network.
UPDATE #3: The Yankees' bid is modest, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (on Twitter). Indications are the winning bid is "sky high."
UPDATE #2: The Yankees did post a bid, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney (Twitter link).
UPDATE: The deadline for teams to submit bids to the Nippon Ham Fighters for the exclusive rights to negotiate with Yu Darvish has ended. One MLB official expects an announcement regarding the winning bid tonight or tomorrow morning, tweets Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post. Check back to BYB for all the latest on Yu Darvish.
