This is not a big story ladies and gentlemen. This is a "Yankees and other teams are interested in Carlos Torres because he became a free agent."
Teams are merely sniffing around the hydrant... kicking the tires and wondering if a they want to take a chance on a guy like Torres... that's it. the Yankees would be foolish to not look Torres's way. But it doesn't mean they want him... it means they are looking at him.

Hardly a "baseball insider" but still a good nugget to read.Source: #Yankees among many teams that have reached out to righty reliever Carlos Torres since he left #Mets for free agency yesterday.— Brendan Kuty (@BrendanKutyNJ) February 2, 2016
With the Mets, Torres is a 32 year old veteran righty. He's been on the Mets the past 3 years compiling a 17-18 record with a 3.59 ERA.
Do with it what you will. It is a name and he's out there. I just think that at this point it's about filling rosters and just wondering what can work to better the club.
Carry on.
